கடுமையான வெப்பம் நிலவி வருவதால் மாநிலத்தில் உள்ள பள்ளி, கல்லூரிகளுக்கு ஒருவாரம் விடுமுறை அறிவித்து மேற்குவங்க முதல்வர் மம்தா பானர்ஜி உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளார். இதுகுறித்து அவர் பெங்காலி செய்தி சேனலிடம் கூறியதாவது, கடந்த சில நாட்களாக பள்ளியிலிருந்து திரும்பிய பிறகு குழந்தைகள், தலைவலி மற்றும் பிற உடல்நலப் பிரச்னைகள் குறித்து புகார் கூறுகின்றனர். 

எனவே, கடுமையான வெப்ப அலை நிலைமைகளைக் கருத்தில் கொண்டு மாநிலத்தில் உள்ள அனைத்து கல்வி நிறுவனங்களும் அடுத்த வாரம் மூடப்படும். இதனை தனியார் கல்வி நிறுவனங்களும் பின்பற்ற வேண்டும் என நான் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறேன். இது தொடர்பான அதிகாரபூர்வ அறிவிப்பு விரைவில் வெளியிடப்படும். மேலும், மதியம் 12 மணி முதல் மாலை 4 மணி வரை வெயிலில் வெளியில் வருவதை மக்கள் தவிர்க்க வேண்டும். இவ்வாறு அவர் கூறினார். 

இதனிடையே தில்லி, பஞ்சாப், ஹரியாணா மற்றும் வடமேற்கு இந்தியாவில் வெப்பம் அதிகரிக்கும் என்று இந்திய வானிலை மையம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது. இதனால் மேற்கு வங்கம் உள்ளிட்ட மாநிலங்களில் வெப்பம் அதிகரிப்பது தொடர்பாக ஆரஞ்சு எச்சரிக்கை விடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has ordered a one-week holiday for schools and colleges in the state due to severe heat. He told a Bengali news channel that children have been complaining of headaches and other health problems after returning from school for the past few days.

Hence, all educational institutes in the state will remain closed next week in view of severe heatwave conditions. I request private educational institutes to follow this too. An official notification regarding this will be released soon. Also, people should avoid going out in the sun between 12 noon to 4 pm. This is what he said.

Meanwhile, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and North-West India will experience heat, according to the India Meteorological Department. Due to this, orange alert has been issued in West Bengal and other states due to the increase in heat.
