சென்னை வானிலை ஆய்வு மையம் வெளியிட்ட செய்திக்குறிப்பு: தமிழகம் மற்றும் காரைக்கால் பகுதிகளில், ஓரிரு இடங்களில் லேசான மழை பெய்துள்ளது. நேற்று காலை நிலவரப்படி, 24 மணி நேரத்தில்,சீர்காழி, செம்பனார் கோவில், சிதம்பரம், 2 செ.மீ., காரைக்கால், கொள்ளிடம் மற்றும் மயிலாடுதுறையில் 1 செ.மீ., மழை பெய்துள்ளது. 

 தென் கிழக்கு வங்க கடல் மற்றும் அதையொட்டிய பகுதிகளில் நிலவிய, ஆழ்ந்த காற்றழுத்த தாழ்வு பகுதி, காற்றழுத்த தாழ்வு மண்டலமாக வலுப்பெற்றுள்ளது. இலங்கையின் திரிகோணமலைக்கு, கிழக்கு தென் கிழக்கே, 610 கி.மீ., தொலைவில் மையம் கொண்டுள்ளது. இந்த மண்டலம், மேற்கு வட மேற்கு திசையில், இன்று மாலை வரை நகரும். பின், தெற்கு மற்றும் தென் மேற்கு திசையில் திரும்பி, நாளை காலையில், இலங்கை கடற்பகுதியை கடக்கும். இதனால் ஏற்படும் வானிலை தாக்கத்தால், இன்று, தமிழக கடலோர மாவட்டங்களிலும், புதுச்சேரியிலும், சில இடங்களில், இன்று மிதமான மழை பெய்யும். 

 நாளை தென் மாவட்டங்கள் மற்றும் தமிழக வடக்கு மாவட்டங்கள் மற்றும் புதுச்சேரியில், மிதமான மழை பெய்யும். கன்னியாகுமரி, திருநெல்வேலி, துாத்துக்குடி, ராமநாதபுரம், சிவகங்கை, புதுக்கோட்டை, தஞ்சாவூர், திருவாரூர், நாகை, மயிலாடுதுறை, கடலுார் மாவட்டங்களிலும், காரைக்காலிலும், ஓரிரு இடங்களில் நாளை கன மழை பெய்யும். சென்னையில் இன்று வானம் மேகமூட்டத்துடன் காணப்படும். அதிகபட்சம், 31 டிகிரி செல்ஷியஸ் பதிவாகும். சில இடங்களில் லேசான மழை பெய்யும். இவ்வாறு அதில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. இலங்கை மற்றும் தமிழக கடலோர பகுதிகள், தென் மேற்கு மற்றும் அதன் அருகில் உள்ள தென் கிழக்கு வங்க கடல் பகுதிகள், மன்னார் வளைகுடா மற்றும் குமரி கடல் பகுதிகளில், வரும், 2ம் தேதி வரை, மணிக்கு, 65 கி.மீ., வேகத்தில் சூறாவளி காற்று வீசும். இந்த பகுதிகளுக்கு மீனவர்கள் செல்ல வேண்டாம் என, எச்சரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

 Chennai Meteorological Department Press Release: Tamil Nadu and Karaikal regions have received light rain at a couple of places. As of yesterday morning, in 24 hours, Sirkazhi, Sembanar Kovil, Chidambaram, 2 cm, Karaikal, Kollidam and Mayiladuthurai received 1 cm of rain. A deep depression over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas has strengthened into a depression.

 It is centered at a distance of 610 km, east-south-east of Trincomalee, Sri Lanka. This zone will move in West North West direction till this evening. Then, turning south and southwest, it will cross the Sri Lankan waters tomorrow morning. Due to the weather impact, there will be moderate rain today in the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in some places. Moderate rain will occur over southern districts and northern districts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry tomorrow. 

 Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Ramanathapuram, Sivagangai, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagai, Mayiladuthurai, Cuddalore districts and Karaikal will receive heavy rain tomorrow. The sky will be cloudy in Chennai today. A maximum of 31 degrees Celsius was recorded. There will be light rain at some places. It says so. Cyclonic winds with a speed of 65 kmph will prevail over the coastal areas of Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu, South West and adjacent South East Bay of Bengal, Gulf of Mannar and Kumari Sea until the 2nd. Fishermen have been warned not to visit these areas.
