 தமிழகம் உள்பட நாடு முழுவதும் வாக்காளர் பட்டியலில் திருத்தம் செய்வதற்கான பணிகள் கடந்த மாதம் 9-ந் தேதி தொடங்கி நடைபெற்று வருகிறது. இந்த பணிகளுக்காக கடந்த மாதம் 12, 13, 26, 27 ஆகிய தேதிகளில் வாக்கு சாவடி அமைக்கும் இடங்களில் சிறப்பு முகாம்கள் நடந்தன. வாக்காளர் பட்டியலில் பெயர் சேர்ப்பு, நீக்கம் போன்ற பணிகளுக்காக மட்டும் கடந்த 1-ந்தேதி வரை 18 லட்சத்துக்கும் அதிகமான விண்ணப்பங்கள் பெறப்பட்டுள்ளன.

 இந்த நிலையில், வாக்காளர் பட்டியல் பெயர் சேர்க்க, நீக்க பணியானது இன்றுடன் (வியாழக்கிழமை) முடிவடைகிறது. இதனால் வாக்காளர் பட்டியலில் பெயர் சேர்க்கவும், நீக்கம் செய்ய உடனடியாக மனு அளிக்குமாறு தேர்தல் ஆணையம் கேட்டுக் கொண்டுள்ளது. இதைதொடர்ந்து விண்ணப்பங்கள் மீதான பரிசீலினை நடைபெறுகிறது. விண்ணப்பங்களை பரிசீலித்து இறுதி வாக்காளர் பட்டியல் தயாரிக்க வருகிற ஜனவரி 3-ந் தேதி வரை தேர்தல் அலுவலர்களுக்கு கால அவகாசம் அளிக்கப்பட்டு உள்ளது. இதையடுத்து தமிழகம் முழுவதும் இறுதி வாக்காளர் பட்டியல் ஜனவரி 5-ந்தேதி வெளியிடப்படுகிறது.

The work of revising the voter list across the country, including Tamil Nadu, has started on the 9th of last month. More than 18 lakh applications have been received till the last 1st for the work of adding and deleting names in the voter list alone.

  In this case, the electoral roll name addition, deletion process ends today (Thursday). Thus, the Election Commission has requested to file a petition immediately to add the name to the voter list and to delete it. Following this, the applications are considered. The Election Officers have been given time till January 3 to consider the applications and prepare the final voter list. Subsequently, the final voter list will be published on January 5th across Tamil Nadu.
